Thought for the day

It's so true...
As predicted last month iOS7 arrives tomorrow (expected about 1800 UK time). Early info suggests holding off on updating older devices, but for iPhone 5 & 4S owners it should be a great (if quite different) experience.
With the announcement keynote for the next iPhone all but confirmed for the 10th of September, we can have a pretty good guess as to when iOS7 is going to drop. If the phone launch is anything like last year, it will be announced at the keynote with pre-orders to start the following Friday, with a launch date a week later. This year that would be the 20th. Given that the new version of iOS typically launches a few days earlier, I'm going with Weds 18 Sep as the launch date at the usual 10AM PST (1800 UK).
Of course I could be wrong and Apple may play around with things this time, but even so it's going to be with us very shortly. I for one, am more than a little interested to have a play...

Users of iPhones and iPads rejoice! Today is the day that iOS 6 will be available (expected 1000 PST, 1800 BST). This latest version of the Apple Mobile Device operating system will bring around 200 new features , tweaks and enhancements in advance of the iPhone 5's launch on Friday.
Personally, I'm actually looking forward most to some of the smaller additions such as "Do Not Disturb", separate signatures for mail accounts and "Cellular+Wi-Fi" data connections. As for those who complain that iOS is getting boring and needs a complete overhaul, I totally disagree. It works, it's solid and it continues to be fine tuned every year. More of the same for me please!

After much speculation, Apple has announced that the iPhone 5 press event will take place on 12 Sep as expected. Can't wait...
